| Monte Alban
Pyramids and other archeological wonders can be found in Monte Alban. Easily reached with a 15 Peso bus ride from the center of town, this site should not be passed up. The most interesting feature is a large arena in the center of the ruins. Here amongst the sacrificial altars athletes would compete to see who was the best: the winner would win the right to be killed before the Deo after the games were completed. Splendid views of the Oaxaca Valleys are seen by climbing the steps of the structures. Hiking from Monte
Alban back to Oaxaca is possible.
